Rapido rubber mounting

Postby doberman1 » Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:40 am

I have the tank and the mounting kit, I'm just wondering what the best way to mount it would be. If anybody could show pictures to this newbie, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

This is their tank mount kit. Ya know it would be pretty hard for me to bend this thick a steel to how they did it.

I had my tank sealed by a local powdercoating shop not too long ago. When I got it back, they had put two holes on the bottom and welded a couple fittings in there to release the coating material. Has anybody else had this happen to you? I'm wondering what would be the point of welding a filler piece in there since it will burn up the liner. If I would of known they were going to put holes in my Rapido, I wouldn't have done it!

All the research I've done everone lets it drain out the petcock opening. I did mine myself useing Por-15 tank sealer. So far so good this stuff dries up hard

I sure wish I would've known you could buy the coating to do it yourself, now I have to fill these holes and move my petcock back. Oh well

They do make/sell a kit that has a stripper and sealer. The stripper is supposed to strip inferior sealer . Dont know if that will help or not
